Operation Encompass
The school has been given the opportunity to take part in a project that will run jointly between schools and West Midlands Police. Operation Encompass is the reporting to schools, prior to 10am on the next school day, when a child or young person has exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident. Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and Assessment Update:
We are excited to announce that we have been selected to become an ‘Early Adopter’ school for the DfE's modified EYFS curriculum and Early Leaning Goals (ELGs). This means we will be teaching a revised curriculum and working towards the new ELGs a year early. The reforms aim to improve outcomes for young children, especially early language, reduce unnecessary workload and help every child to thrive and close the achievement gap.

Break-in on Saturday, 4th April, 2020
We are aware that many of you will have already heard the upsetting news that there was a break in at school in the early hours of Saturday morning. Both the police and staff attended and we would like to reassure you that the situation is being fully dealt with. School will be open on Monday, 6th April, as planned, to support our vulnerable children and those of our registered Key Workers.
If you have any information (CCTV footage) which you feel would be helpful to us regarding this break in, please contact the school office or contact the police on 101 (Quote Crime Number - 20FH826862Q20).
Thank you for your support in this matter.

Information regarding bad weather:
Please be advised that in the event of the school being forced to close due to bad weather it will be posted here, on the front page of the school website, at the earliest point possible (usually by 8am). We will also send out a 'tweet' informing all of the George Fentham followers at the same time. You can also listen to the local radio stations who provide lists of school closures, however these often take a while to filter through. |
