School Closure Provision - Spring 2021:
If you are reading this it will be due to the fact that, unfortunately, our Year 5 class 'bubble' has had to close because of a further full lockdown of schools.
In response to the feedback of our survey, we have spent a large amount of time reflecting on our provision during the original lockdown and working out how best to amend, adapt and improve our provision, taking account of families individual circumstances and technical capabilities, as well as looking at how best to organise children's learning.
Staff have now created a 2 week 'remote learning' curriculum, closely aligned to what the children would have been learning in school, to ensure a seamless transition. This covers the full curriculum entitlement.
We are conscious that many of you may be trying to balance working from home with caring for your children, so we have provided work which can be accessed in a flexible way.
In order to support you and your child, staff will be available throughout the day to provide support to you and your child/ren via Purple Mash email, the Class Discussion Boards and, as appropriate, in future using other platforms (telephone/Microsoft Teams). Building on the systems introduced previously, staff will now also provide clear expectations over which work needs submitting to them (photos or documents attached) and they will then assess this and provide feedback, as appropriate.

A message from Mrs Kermode & Mrs Bradburn Dear Year 5, It was so lovely seeing all your faces on our MS Teams call. It made us smile and we hope you enjoyed it too. This week you will find two MS Teams calls in your calendar to further support your learning: one on Monday and one on Thursday. Remember to check your calendar in Teams if you are not sure of the time. As you were all such whizzes last week, we will be continuing to trial using MS Teams to post your work for the Maths and English only. We will be posting all other work on the web page as usual. Please check instructions carefully for each subject to find out where your work will need to be submitted. Please do not attach work to Purple Mash emails as it is difficult to save our responses. We would like to remind you that all communication should be via Purple Mash email. This is because it is a safe, secure platform that we can monitor carefully. We have noticed that the chat function on MS Teams has not always been used for work-related queries or discussions. We will be monitoring this as part of our trial this week. If you don’t use a computer to do your work or if there’s a suggested way of recording your work that you can’t access, don’t worry. Only print off what you need and complete the tasks in your exercise book to bring in on your return to school. Take care and stay safe. Lots of love, Mrs Kermode and Mrs Bradburn |
General
Online Safety
The current situation means that we find ourselves all spending much more time accessing and/or using online platforms and resources in order to do our job, or to support our children with their 'home learning'. This creates additional worries around Online Safety and so we just wanted to point you in the right direction for guidance and advice when it comes to ensuring that both you, and your children, are as safe as can be.
The government has this week released information about keeping children safe online, which you can read here.
The supplementary guidance, specific to 'what you can do to stay safe online', can be read here.
We would also signpost you to our Online Safety page, which has a wealth of information on it. Click here.
Remember - You CAN do any of the activities from previous weeks as well, if you didn't get chance.
Every week you must complete:
Don't forget that there are also some great resources, including daily lessons, on BBC Bitesize now - Click here - as well as on the new Oak National Academy website - Click here.
FOR PARENTS:
We are incredibly conscious of the difficulties around printing out lots of worksheets and, whilst there will still be a need for this format to be used, we are endeavouring to find alternative ways for children to record their work. This may take the form of emailing their work directly back to us through Purple Mash, just using plain paper and writing their responses themselves or collecting (from the school office) the folder and books that we have put together for each child so that they can record all of their work in there (this would be the preferred suggestion).
The following guides may be of help supporting your child with Purple Mash:
2dos-Parent Guide
2email –Parent Guide
Managing Work –Parent Guide
Sharing work – Parent Guide.
Please keep Parent Guides for Purple Mash & add suggested timetable.
Please follow the suggested timetable below to help the children organise their day and spend enough time on each activity to produce a quality piece of work. Children should be completing 3-4 hours work every day.

Week Two (wc January 18th 2021)
Maths
For any Maths work completed this week, submit a photo and hand in via Teams on the matching assignment.
This week we will be focusing on 'Shape and Measures.' You will find learning videos to support this work on MS Teams. Remember do not print off all the work, choose the right level of challenge for your child. You might even be able to view these on line without printing at all. (Saving trees and ink! )
Circles (*) – Easier
Triangles (**) – Hard
Rectangles (***) - Harder
Maths 1 - LO: To understand angles in a triangle.
Use the knowledge that the angles inside a triangle add up to 180˚to find the missing angles.
Maths 1 Questions (with answers)
Maths 2 - LO: To compare and classify triangles.
Name scalene, isosceles and equilateral triangles.
Triangles to cut out. Use the sorting tree to identify and name. Label the triangles and stick them in your book.
Maths 3 - LO: To convert units of weight.
When we talk about weight we are thinking about and comparing how heavy and light objects are. We use the units grams (g) and kilograms (Kg)
You must learn and remember 1Kg = 1000g
Practical Task - Practise weighing objects and reading scales. You can do this on any type of scales (Bathroom or Kitchen) Estimate the weight of objects before you weigh them and see how accurate you are. Complete a table in your book of objects and their weight.
Circles work
Circles answers
Triangles and Rectangles work with answers
Maths 4 - LO: To convert metric measures of capacity
When we talk about capacity we are thinking about how much liquid a container can hold. We measure capacity in litres (L) and millilitres (ml.)
You must learn and remember 1L = 1000ml
Practical Task - Ask your adults if you can practise measuring different capacities with a measuring jug. Estimate the capacity of objects before you fill them with water. Pour the water into the measuring jug to see how accurate you are. Complete a table in your book of objects and their capacity.

Circles and triangles answers
Rectangles – I have set you a capacity problem. You can find it and a link to solution at Oh! Harry! (maths.org)
Maths 5 - LO: To convert units of length
When we talk about weight we are thinking about length and distance. This is the trickiest of all the measures as we have lots of different sized units to measure accurately things that are really small and really big.
Starting from the smallest, we use the units millimetre (mm), centimetres (cm), metres (m)and kilometres (km)
You must learn and remember
1cm = 10mm
1m = 100cm
1km = 1000m
We are focusing on converting metres to kilometres today reinforcing multiplying and dividing by 1000.
Everyone do the main activity.
Rectangles and those feeling confident with measures - after the main activity we would like you to have a go at the challenge task. This looks at the imperial unit of MILES. The UK is different from other parts of the world as we use miles to measure large distances. A mile is slightly longer than a kilometre. If you are going to run a race, it would be quicker to run a kilometre than a mile. A mile is 1609metres. This is an awkward number to calculate with so most people remember:
5 miles = 8 km or 5km = 3 miles.
In today's challenge you have to read the graph carefully to work out how many miles Sam travelled.

LO: To know how to maintain secure passwords.
‘Oh dear children we have lost your passwords to Purple Mash. Can you email them to us?’
I hope you are all shouting NO, NO, NO!!!!
Your password is the first line of defence against identity theft and you should NEVER share private details.
In today’s world we have to think critically about what we are asked to do online even if the request comes from a reputable source.
Most companies now do not have access to passwords so if a user forgets their password, they are sent a link by email to reset it themselves and the password is encrypted when stored on the company databases.
Top tips are to use a password that:

These Marys have very different lives and it is important to recognise cultures all over the world contain a lot of variety, just like ours does.
1. How are the lives of these children the same as yours?
2. How are the lives of these children different from yours?
3. What hopes and dreams might these children have?
4. How are their dreams the same and different to yours?
5. What are the similarities and differences in the Marys’ goals?
You can choose how you present and share your ideas. Make sure you try to include answers to all five questions above. You may have to call them Mary 1 and Mary 2 so that you don’t get confused in your explanations.

LO: To explore different sounds
What can you remember about the inter-related dimensions of music? Can you name any? Ask somebody to test you if you can.
Remember we are focussing on timbre. That means a particular tone or sound something makes.
Once again, watch the work on today’s video. It will follow on from the work that you did last lesson.
Please write down each of the inter-related dimensions of music (e.g pitch, tempo) and write a definition of each in your exercise book. Write down 3 things that you have learnt in today’s lesson in full sentences. Take a photo and upload to Purple Mash (see above).

Geography Lesson 2
LO To find out why rivers are important
Last week you should have researched a famous river, thinking about the countries it runs through, how long it is etc. Today’s lesson is to find out all about why rivers are important. You will come across the terms ‘physical’ and ‘human’ geography – remember those as you will continue to use them throughout your school life.
After viewing the slides on the PowerPoint, you will need to download and either write or type on the sheet and explain what you have learnt about rivers being important.

I am going to try this a little differently and load some teaching videos and work into Teams assignments (I've sent you all an email via Purple Mash explaining in more detail).
Let me know how you get on by Purple Mash.
Maths 1 - LO: To read and write 6 digit numbers.
Maths 2 -LO: Using place value to add and subtract large numbers mentally
Maths 3 - LO: To compare and order 6 digit numbers.
Maths 4 - LO: To multiply by 10/100/1000

English
This term, one of our English units is about different types of poetry. Poetry is a type of literature, or artistic writing that attempts to stir a reader's imagination or emotions. The poet does this by carefully choosing and arranging language for its meaning, sound, and rhythm.
This week we are going to be looking at a particularly piece of writing by the poet Benjamin Zephaniah as well as practising reading skills.
Day 1- LO: To learn about a poet and the historical context of a poem.
In this lesson, we will be learning about an interesting poet, where he’s from and about one of his most famous poems called The British.
Please open up the PowerPoint presentation with your sound and slide show functions on. We have experimented with recording our voice this week and for some reason the sound is duplicating on the first slide when it’s opened up, but if you let it run through that first slide (with both voices!!) it should be sorted by the time you move onto the second one and you’ll only hear one voice. We are still learning about how to do these things, so apologies!
All the work is on the PowerPoint (Unfortunately, this file was too large to upload to the websitr, however you can access it on the Year 5 TEAMS page.).
You will just need your exercise book to do the work in. Make sure you write the long date and the LO please.
Day 2 - LO: To read and analyse a poem
Today we will be recapping our thoughts about the context of the poem, The British. We will look at vocabulary and read through the entire poem. We hope you enjoy it!
Once again, open up the PowerPoint presentation. Please use the PowerPoint presentation with your sound and slide show functions on. All work is included in the slides and you will just need your exercise book and pen.
Day 3 - LO: To explore the writer’s purpose
Today’s lesson we will be focussing on some vocabulary, discussing WHY Benjamin Zephaniah might have chosen certain words and thinking about definitions of some of the more tricky words.
Once again, open up the PowerPoint presentation. Please use the PowerPoint presentation with your sound and slide show functions on. All work is included in the slides and you will just need your exercise book and pen.
Day 4 - LO: To answer questions on a poem and to plan my own poem
This lesson will recap some of the vocabulary looked at on Day 3, re-read the poem The British and answer questions about the poem, looking for evidence in the text. You will need to be a detective and look for clues! You will also then plan your own poem in the style of The British.
Once again, open up the PowerPoint presentation. Please use the PowerPoint presentation with your sound and slide show functions on. All work is included in the slides and you will just need your exercise book and pen.
Day 5 - LO: To write my own recipe poem
Now it’s over to you! Use everything you have learnt this week to write your own poem in the style of a recipe like The British. Think about what verbs you might use, what are the ‘ingredients’ that make up the thing you’re describing and choose vocabulary carefully.
We really look forward to seeing what you come up with. Good luck!
Once again, open up the PowerPoint presentation. Please use the PowerPoint presentation with your sound and slide show functions on. All work is included in the slides and you will just need your exercise book and pen.

• Salary
• 3 steps needed to take to achieve my dream job, e.g. work hard at school, get some relevant work experience (mechanic/hairdresser), go to university, work in my dad’s shop, etc.
Geography
LO: To research a world river
This half term’s topic is going to be all about Rivers. For the first lesson, we would like you to research a famous river and present your work clearly as a poster (or a project if you would rather). Please ensure that you do not research the Amazon River as we will be coming on to that later in the term.
Try to include as much information as you can about how long the river is, how wide, any particular wildlife or other features, which countries it runs through, who uses the river and how, pollution and the environment etc
Open up the PowerPoint to take you through exactly what you need to do. There are also some suggested websites on there but there are others that you might find useful too. Remember to present your work as neatly as possible please, include the date and LO.
French (MFL)
LO: To ask for a drink
Use the Drinks PowerPoint to familiarise yourself the French names for some hot drinks and cold drinks. As the PowerPoint file contains audio, your software may flag it as unsafe. Please select ‘Edit Anyway’ to proceed.
As you go through the PowerPoint you have to sort drinks in to hot and cold and the type of container they come in. Listen carefully using the sound buttons to practise your best French accent.
Ask your parents to ask you - Qu’est-ce que vous désirez boire ?
Use the sentence Je voudrais de …. to tell them what you would like to drink.
It is the conversation that is important to practise but if you want to have a go, I will post a Purple Mash 2do where you have to record yourself asking for different drinks.

LO: To understand about the life of the artist, Henri Rousseau
We are going to learn all about a French artist this half of term called Henri Rousseau. He was born in France in the mid-19th Century and was famous for his pictures of jungles and plants. He was not a very popular artist during his life-time: people thought that his paintings were simple and a bit child-like! However, we are still talking about them today.
Please can you open the PowerPoint and follow the slides through, trying to remember as much information about him as you can. There are 2 tasks at the end and you can choose which one you would like to do. Either way, please can you complete your work in your note book, or exercise book from school, if you have collected it from the school office. Remember to write the date and the learning objective too.
Music
LO: to understand the term ‘body percussion’ and practise a piece of body percussion
For Music this half term, we’re going to explore another one of the inter-related dimensions of music. You should have last week reminded yourself what all of these are. For example, pitch, pulse, dynamics, tempo etc. If you didn’t do that lesson, please look at last week’s work (scroll down the page) and have a quick look at the revision PowerPoint of what all these words mean.

Week Zero (January 5th 2021)

We are moving on from last week’s work on addition and subtraction by using our skills to solve problems.
It is really important that you feel confident with the column method for addition and subtraction. Please don’t rush on to problem solving if you are not confident, stay on Monday -lesson 11- for more than one day and use the extra resources to really build up your skills.
Remember it is really important that when you are writing out your column calculations you line up the correct digits in their columns so that you don’t miscalculate.

We have found a teacher reading it to her class on YouTube which you can use to support your work.
For Chapters 27 and 28 the comprehension sheet is interactive. You can type your answers straight into the boxes. Save your work and email it back to us via Purple Mash/ School office.
Please be aware some of the questions asked are about the written features in the text, but because you do not have a copy of the book – you DO NOT have to answer these ones.

https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=the+story+of+father+damien+for+children&adlt=strict%2cstrict&view=detail&mid=CE5C2D51E375CD34CC6BCE5C2D51E375CD34CC6B&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dthe%2Bstory%2Bof%2Bfather%2Bdamien%2Bfor%2Bchildren%26adlt%3Dstrict%26FORM%3DVDVVXX
You can also read about him here: https://wiki.kidzsearch.com/wiki/Father_Damien (Ask a Parent for help with the reading if you need too)
Now create a poster or cartoon strip showing your understanding of his life. How did his faith shape his life? What wrong did he try to put right? Who did he stand up for and help?
You can do this on paper and send a photo or complete on Purple Mash. Choose the program that suits your intentions best, maybe use your animation skills from Year 4 or 2Publish plus to make a poster. Save it in the Class 5 folder ‘Father Damien’ with your name.
History
This week you will be learning all about The Trojan War. Maybe many of you know about this already?
Follow the PowerPoint through please, using the slide show function so that you can see everything clearly.
Once you get to the end, you will see that your task this week is to write a diary entry or two from the perspective of a Greek or Trojan involved in the war.
Click here for the diary writing template if you would like to use it. If you would rather write on your own lined paper, please feel free to do so. You could also draw a picture to go with it if you like! Remember to write in 1st person, use past tense and lots of time conjunctions to show chronological order. Most importantly, describe the feelings of your character in a much detail as you can.
Once you have completed all your work, take a picture of your diary to attach to a message or email your documents via Purple Mash email to Mrs Kermode and Mrs Bradburn or via the school office email.

Following on from your History work this week, we would like you to have a go at making an Ancient Greek shield.
The PowerPoint contains a little bit of history followed by lots of designs to get your imaginations flowing. You should have already been given a large piece of card to take home with you for this purpose.
Feel free to make it as creative as you like, using the resources available to you at home. Perhaps your design might reflect your own character (e.g. brave, strong, invincible, courageous) or perhaps you would like to be more traditional and use one of the Greek designs from the slides. If you would like to do further research about designs of Greek shields on the internet or from reference books and create something different, please go ahead. Be as imaginative as you like!
Once again, when you have completed all your work, take a picture of your shield to attach to a message and email it via Purple Mash email to Mrs Kermode and Mrs Bradburn or via the school office email.
Music
In our Music lessons we have discussed the inter-related dimensions of music - this means that all these elements connect with each other like friends. If you can't remember, have a look here. Now get somebody to see what you can remember.
Can you remember what the difference is between a rhythm and the pulse?
Choose a favourite piece of music and see if you can tap the pulse (or the beat) of the music. This will be steady and regular like your heartbeat or the ticking of a clock.
Now can you pick out any particular rhythms of the melody? This will often be what the singer (or main instrument) is doing and might sound like a musical pattern which fits the words (lyrics).
Now have a look at this video on the Oak National Academy. Follow the video through, copying back the pulse or rhythms which the teacher does.

Now tell somebody what you can remember about the difference between rhythm and pulse?
Well done!

We will be developing our football skills this week. You can use any ball that you have at home and tins (unopened), teddies or sticks make great cone replacements. You will need space so get outside when the weather is good and maybe take a trip to the park or field.
You can practise this as many times as you like, then email me your top score. (And a photo of you in action if an adult gives you permission. By sending a photo you will be consenting for it to be used on our school website and Purple Mash account.)
General
Every week you must complete:
- 20 minutes quiet reading x 5 days. (At least one of these sessions should involve reading to an adult so that you can discuss your book and vocabulary.)
- 20minutes x 3days timetables practise. You can use the best method for you: singing, playing games with an adult or using an app such as TT Rock Stars, Purple Mash or Hit the Button.
The following guides may be of help supporting your child with Purple Mash:

We are moving on from last week’s work on addition and subtraction by using our skills to solve problems.
It is really important that you feel confident with the column method for addition and subtraction. Please don’t rush on to problem solving if you are not confident, stay on Monday -lesson 11- for more than one day and use the extra resources to really build up your skills.
Remember it is really important that when you are writing out your column calculations you line up the correct digits in their columns so that you don’t miscalculate.

We are sure you are all excited to find out what has happened to our hero Elliot in ‘Who let the Gods out?’ We will spend the rest of this week finishing the book.

Day 3: Who Let the Gods Out? Chapter 29 - YouTube (Listen carefully and enjoy today’s chapter)
This is the end of our story. We hope you have enjoyed the book but as the text hints – there is a sequel. Can you predict who is at the door and what might happen next? Use your imagination and make connections with what we have read.
You will find a book review to do on Purple Mash to complete.

Phase 2 Provision
The work provided below covers the 2 weeks of any isolation period.
School Closure Provision - Autumn 2020:
If you are reading this it will be due to the fact that, unfortunately, our Year 5 class 'bubble' has had to close because of either a 14 day isolation period as a result of a confirmed case or there has been a further partial/full lockdown of schools.

Christmas Week Closure (07/12/20)
Unfortunately, we find ourselves with the majority of the class now having to self-isolate at home for this last week of the Autumn term. We are very conscious that in - school we would have been completing numerous Christmas themed activities (cards, calendars, decorations and engaging in fun games etc) therefore, so they don't miss out, we will be providing a range of these for those at home to do, alongside our detailed remote learning provision. Whilst staff will, in line with our policy, be available during the school day to support children and offer feedback they will, in these most unusual circumstances, also have children in class to support, therefore we would suggest that any completed work be bought back into school in January so that staff can fully assess it properly.

In school our English will be linked to the Christmas story and our RE topic ‘Angels’.
Monday- LO: To sequence the Nativity Story.
Read this Nativity story and complete the sequencing task. (There are two sets, choose the level of challenge that is right for you.)
Read the story- www.whychristmas.com/story/the_christmas_story.shtml
Nativity sequencing.
Tuesday – LO: To retell a well-known story from a different perspective.
Now read the story from Gabriel’s perspective. What did he have to do next? Have a go at writing your own version from the Angels point of view. Remember to use your descriptive writing skills to make your story come alive. (Adjectives and prepositions to describe noun, similes, powerful adverbs and fronted adverbials. Try to extend some of your sentences by using a range of conjunctions) This will be your draft version that we will edit and improve tomorrow.
The angel’s story - www.thechurchofjesuschrist.org/blog/item/the-christmas-story-as-told-by-the-angel-gabriel
Wednesday – LO: To edit and improve my writing
Use a different colour to go through your story and edit your work. Write it up in neat. Bring both versions into school. (If you are doing this on a computer please send both versions, the draft and final version)
Thursday – LO: To develop editing skills.
We will continue with our editing practice. Have a look at the PowerPoint and help Santa edit the elves’ writing. You will need to print one piece of elves’ work to edit or if you don’t have a printer, write it out yourself on a piece of paper neatly with everything corrected and then underlined in the relevant colours . If you do print out, only print page 1 as page 2 contains the answers! An adult can use this to help you check your work.

LO: To develop my map work skills.
In school we will be helping Santa plot his route around the world. You will need to print off the Map and list of countries that Santa visits to help you.
Look at the Christmas Crisis PowerPoint
(BUT NOT THE LAST SLIDE UNTIL YOU HAVE FINISHED!!!)
You need to find the countries on the map and then work out the order in which Santa should visit them. Write your order on the back of your map.
HINT: Not every country has midnight at the same time because of the different time zones so he might start in New Zealand or some eastern parts of Russia which are the first countries to start a new day.

LO: To develop the qualities of earthly angels.
Sometimes we refer to people who have done kind or helpful things as angels. What can you do to be an angel? Just like angels in the Nativity, spread the message of joy, peace and love this Christmas.
Task: Help your adults write some Christmas cards to spread the joy of Christmas amongst your friends and family. Not writing cards - try a phone call or zoom instead. Ask your parents’ permission first.
Remember Christmas is a season when we spread the message of love, joy and peace.

It’s a beautiful, dramatic piece of music which comes from a much longer piece of work called the Nutcracker- you might like to listen to it fully. The Nutcracker has a strong association with Christmas and has been used in lots of adverts as it tells a story about a little girl on Christmas Eve.
Please return your work to school either when you return in January or by email via the School Office or Purple Mash email to both Mrs Kermode and Mrs Bradburn.

General
- Every week you must complete:
20 minutes quiet reading x 5 days. (At least one of these sessions should involve reading to an adult so that you can discuss your book and vocabulary.)
20minutes x 3days timetables practise. You can use the best method for you: singing, playing games with an adult or using an app such as TT Rock Stars, Purple Mash or Hit the Button.
FOR PARENTS:
The following guides may be of help supporting your child with Purple Mash:
2dos-Parent Guide
2email –Parent Guide
Managing Work –Parent Guide
Sharing work – Parent Guide.
Don't forget that there are also some great resources, including daily lessons, on BBC Bitesize now - Click here - as well as on the new Oak National Academy website - Click here.
Maths
This week you are going to be consolidating your understanding of using the column method for addition and subtraction. Remember that all digits are kept in their own place value column. E.g. 24 – 2 tens and 4 units.
It is really important for this reason that when you are writing out your column calculations you line up the correct digits in their columns so that you don’t miscalculate.
H T U H T U
2 4 6 NOT 2 4 6
+ 3 2 2 + 3 2 2
______ ________
______ ________
Each day this week you will be watching a teaching video on the Oak Academy website, which does include some calculations to complete as you go through. Feel free to pause the video at any time or go back over anything that you’re not sure about. Remember – you can go at your own pace.
We would like you to use the following link: https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/addition-and-subtraction-ec16
This week’s work will start from Lesson 6 on the website and your timetable for the week will be as follows:
Day 1 – Lesson 6 Adding using the column method
Day 2 – Lesson 7 Adding using the column method when multiple columns require regrouping
Day 3 – Lesson 8 Subtracting using the column method
Day 4 – Lesson 9 Subtracting using the column method when multiple columns require regrouping
Day 5 – Lesson 10 Subtracting from multiplies of 1000
Please find below additional work to do by the end of the week to consolidate your learning. There are fluency questions followed by problem solving and reasoning questions where you need to justify and explain your thinking. Remember to choose your own level of challenge. If one is too tricky, try going back to the one before.

Geography

Computing
LO: To consolidate internet safety rules.
It is always important to be safe when we are using the internet. Have a go at playing the game below to remind yourself of the rules for being safe online.
- Be internet sharp – Think before you share.
- Be internet alert – Is it for real?
- Be internet secure – Protect your stuff.
- Be internet kind – Respect each other.
- Be internet brave – When in doubt, discuss.
Share this game with your family; it is important everyone is internet safe.
Art
LO: To use a range of stimuli for art.
We will be having a go at some Norther Lights art work using chalks and pastels.
Watch the videos below:
www.sciencekids.co.nz/videos/earth/northernlights.html
www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kS32Cx1Qv8
You don’t have to follow the second video exactly but it may inspire you to create some Northern Lights artwork of your own. You can use whatever you have available at home. Bring any finished artwork back into school in January or take a photo and email it to us. You may even want to use the art tools on Purple Mash to create a digital piece of work to reflect the Northern Lights.
